WALE: Hate Is the New Love
In 2006, Kenny discovered rapper Wale in the streets of their shared hometown of Washington, D.C. After meeting the young emcee and hearing his talent, he immediately signed him to his personal record label, Studio 43, and put him in the studio with a curated line up of producers. Together they created hits like 'Dig Dug' (Wale's first single) and 'Uptown Roamers,' also producing a number of well-received mixtapes that catapulted the young superstar to sign a deal with Interscope Records in 2008.
